When I first arrived in the UK last year, I took a language-course bus trip to Edinburgh. That visit was hurried, and I was alone, so I only walked around the city centre and Edinburgh Castle. My impression of Edinburgh was much like that of a typical tourist city: it was crowded.

The second time I went to Edinburgh, I was passing through on a self-drive trip to the Isle of Skye. I visited the Royal Yacht Britannia during lunchtime and did not go into the city centre.

This was my third visit, with classmates. We had one day, and a classmate from the University of Edinburgh led us to many places, including Calton Hill, the seaside, the University of Edinburgh, and the National Museum of Scotland. This trip changed my previous view of Edinburgh. It is a city with both beautiful scenery and a rich cultural heritage.
